Syntomycin is chloramphenicol. This drug is not FDA approved because of
rare cases of aplastic anemia. It is used in lots of the rest of the world
however. It should also not be given to babies under 1 month because of
grey baby syndrome It is generally felt to be contraindicated in nursing
mothers. There is no other drug that the can use?
