I have a friend with ITP. Unfortunately, he cannot help with the issues
of ITP and birth and breastfeeding, but from what I understand this is a
disorder that affects platelets (and blood clotting). It seems to me
that birth would be a greater danger than breastfeeding, unless there is
something I am overlooking (And I look forward to hearing other thoughts
on this and learning more!). Perhaps the only rational is that
breastfeeding is "too tiring" and "hard on the woman's body"??
BTW, in my friend's case, he was successfully treated (cured?) by a
spenectomy.
