Elizabeth,
This whole story shouts allergy/intolerance to me! Her body and immune
system (and that of the baby, too, it seems) are stuggling to cope. I hope
Maureen Minchin is still reading Lactnet. I'd love to hear what her opinion
of this scenario is.

My thoughts would be to seriously pursue the allergy/intolerance aspects on
mum's diet. Weaning may be the worst thing to do from the baby's point of
view, if this is indeed the problem.
