Diane, I have sent you a long post with my yeast treatment recommendations
but I want to say here that killing off the yeast with an antifungal is
seldom enough to resolve the problem of yeast overgrowth. It often just
takes over again. Usually after a mom has a recurrence she is willing to
follow the treatment plan carefully and afterwards has a healthy GI track
again and her body's yeast and bacteria are harmoniously co-habitating again.

Weaning from the painful breast is not a solution. She still has an
imbalance of yeast.

Was her Diflucan treatment for 13-14 days? She does seem to have a regrowth
of intraductal yeast and she needs to be treated fully to resolve it.

I've posted my plan a couple of times but if anyone doesn't have it you can
e-mail me privately and I'll send it to you. I've put together what
Lactnetters have found effective with what I have also, and it WORKS!

I still shudder when I get those calls that I know mean yeast. Even *my*
dog got a yeast infection in her ear. The vet said, "You need to follow the
instructions carefully because yeast can be stubborn to treat." He's
talking to ME?!
