Please ask physician to provide data that nursing a 2.5 year old a few
times a day interferes with fertility.  I'll bet this same physician
encourages women to use birth control during the first few months
because breastfeeding doesn't prevent pregnancy.

It is extremely unlikely that this type of nursing will interfere with
pregnancy.  There is no data available exactly for this situation,
either way.
