This is a very unscientific answer, but.......

this particular physician better give me a call.  I have given birth to 3
babies since I had viral meningitis.  All the babies breastfed till close
to the age of three, including the one right now who is about to turn
three and still nursing about 6 times a day & night.  I really would like
to hear this doc's references & reasons for discouraging bf.

what a hoot...and  I don't see how I will eat my words with some
drop-dead answer that I made some horrible mistake breastfeeding my very
healthy children.
