Hello lactnetters
A mom called me today who has chronic kidney stones and will be having
surgery next week to remove them (again).  She has had the procedure
many times before.  Her baby is 5 weeks old exclusively breastfed.  Her
MD told her she would need to be on long-term allupurinol so she should
stop nursing.  I'm on vacation (sort of) this week and had not planned
to go in and of course my references are at the hospital where I work.
She was so sad when I called her tonight that i thought I would just
send a post and see what resoponse I got while I go to get my "books"
from the hospital.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, this is her 3rd baby and she bottle fed the others.  She was
thrilled that Breast feeding was going so well and she's feeling the
loss.
