I found hydrogel dressings in the pharmacy on the band-aid shelf. The
pharmacist knew next to nothing about them other than I should check the
shelf. There were several brands to pick from. I saw a mother last week
with dimpled nipples which were horribly damaged -- the right had about
1/3rd of the tip eroded. I am using hydrogel dressings on this mother, the
first time I've tried this. I am most anxious to talk with her to see how
several days on this therapy have affected the healing of this nipple. I'll
let you know. We got bactroban from the pedi. and applied it topically,
with the hydrogel dressing over that, and a pad to hold it in place. She
immed. reported that just not having everything stick to the wound was
"already worth the price of admission." The dressings were about $4.99 for
a pack of 4.
