Here in Ohio I have found a local pharmacy that will mix up gentian
violet in a water base--no prescription needed. It worked well for a
mother who was intolerant of most creams and to alcohol....and had yeast
symptoms.

I asked about the difference in alcohol vs. water based because I'm
wondering if the alcohol enhances the action of the gentian for better
response that may be worth the risk of the drying out of the alcohol...
and because I'm curious what those who like gentian are using. Has
anyone used both enough or studied up on it to know?
