Yes, the Society for Clay Pipe Research is very much alive and growing.
 
Issue 50 of the "newsletter" (actually a 64-page journal) for Autumn/Winter
1996 contains several archaeological articles, but the journal also covers
folklore, collecting, pipe history, and genealogies of pipemaking families.
