I have a patient breastfeeding a 10 month old baby who is suffering from a
recurrence of SLE.
She has previously been extremely unwell with her lupus and has been only
controlled on plaquenil.
Her rheumatologist now wants her to commence Plaquenil but has advised her
that she shouldn't breastfeed and take this drug. Dr. Hale's book does not
give a definitve answer re this drug. Does anyone have any experience with
this drug and breastfeeding. Dr. Hale could you possibly clarify this issue
for me.
