Hi, Pat. No, I did mean "alive". The researchers saw that bovine milk did
not cause the cancer line to commit suicide, but "something" in the human
milk did. So, they fractionized both down to alpha-lactalbumin but still
found no difference. Ergo, it had to be something even "smaller", that
is, within the two species' alpha-lactalbumin that was making the
difference. And they found the very specific multimeric a-lactalbumin
(they call it MAL) to be the lethal factor to the cancer cells. OK?
