Hi
Here is that list of sources involving coffin viewing windows.
Edward Bell has put out a neat book (an entire book!) on sources on
historic cemeteries, that I highly recommend for those really
interested in historic cemeteries (Of course I couldn't find the
title to that).
At Freedman's Cemetery (Dallas TX) I reconstructed 10 different shapes of viewin
g
windows. The shapes were predictably variations on ovals and rectangles.
Sizes ranged from small face plates to body length windows. Some coffins even
had 2 windows. Many windows had holes drilled in them for viewing window cover
latches
and some had cut outs to accommodate the coffin plaque.
