Thanks, Linda, for your reminiscences and information about the formation of
IBLCE and ILCA. (My first computer was also a Commodore-64, may it rest in
peace!) I've also been around since the beginning and became a member of
ILCA as soon as I heard about it. I have the first ILCA "journal" and enjoy
going back to read over the early issues. How far and how fast JHL
evolved--many thanks to Kathy A. and other who have contributed to this.

One very interesting experience for me was to participate on the IBLCE exam
committee in 1988, the year after I wrote the exam (very interesting to be
on the other end of that process). Fascinating to watch how the exam
questions evolved, and extremely interesting to work with the
psychometrician, Leon Gross. I learned a lot more about putting together a
good exam from that very intense weekend than in my 4 years of teacher training!

I hope someone is collecting history and will put together an article or
book on this profession before we old-timers start forgetting details and
maybe even cleaning out cupboards with old records.
