Just back from vacation and catching up on e-mail.  Barbara shouldn't
apologize for expecting that a mentor should receive compensation from the
student.  We recommend to our graduates that they try to arrange for some
mentoring.  Unfortunately, there are not many organized programs around and
in many cases an LC does what Barbara has done - takes on a student for no
compensation.  Students should expect to make a financial commitment to
mentoring just a they do for didactic instruction.
