I need some suggestions, please. I work as the district breastfeeding
coordinator for our local WIC agency. We have lots of planned activities for
the upcoming WBW celebration, one of these being a walk. I have
commisssioned a painter to paint a 3' by 12' banner that we will carry during
our walk. On all of our flyers, I have put the heading, "It's a matter of
health, it's a matter of love". I had also planned on incorporating this
heading into our banner. Today my boss tells me, she wants the header on the
banner, but underneath it she wants to have "Breastfeeding, Nature's Bottle".
AARRRGHHH!!! She LOVES this!! She kept telling me how she liked the way it
sounded. I have had quite a time getting my district to do much of anything
that costs money to promote breastfeeding. I do not want to "blow" this, but
I really feel it is totally inappropriate!! She is a real control freak,
never asks for my input on breastfeeding supplies, hand-outs, employee
training or anything. I do not want to alienate her, but how can I march
with a banner that says that?? Please help!! BTW, I am the only person
(paid or unpaid) designated to do breastfeeding work, so I do not have the
option of an unanimous vote!!
                                                TIA,
                                                Pam
