Dear Diane,

I read somewhere, but can't find the ref., that hair growth slows to a crawl
during pregnancy. When it speeds up pp, the aged hair grows out (and falls
out or breaks), making it appear to be hair loss, while it's really hair
regrowth.
I haven't read of any similar effect from lactation, so the hair regrowth (and
loss) should occur whether or not the mom is BFing.

Jonathan
