Dr. Zvi Laron of the Sackler School of Medicine at the University of Tel Aviv in
Israel spoke in January about the believed link between ABM and type I diabetes.
Juvenile diabetes has increased in the Jewish population in Israel 50% since 1985.

How unfortunate that researchers such as Dr. Laron (whom I contacted personally)
are more interested in academic studies and statistics rather than DOING something
about the situation.  Think how much money is spent on research.  If only a fraction
of that could be spent on educating the public/health professionals, we'd be better
off...
