I would love it if more LCs would offer some kind of mentoring program! I
would also like to see ILCA get behind something like this and offer more
help for future LCs. Maybe someone at ILCA could put together a list of
member LCs who would be willing to mentor IBCLC hopefuls? This would be a
project I would definitely (I am an ILCA member) be interested in working
on!

The trouble for some of us is that we live in rural areas or areas that
don't have a lot of LCs. In my county (don't know the population but it
does include a city of over 100,000) we have only one private practice
LC. Only the Kaiser hospital actually has an LC on staff. I do live about
an hour away from San Francisco and would gladly drive into the city if I
could work with an LC and get practice hours.

Another subject: I heard on the radio this morning that the story from
Eureka, CA about the woman grabbing and breastfeeding babies may not be
entirely true. The report said that one of the "victims" had changed her
story. This whole thing did sound pretty weird!
