If anyone has assisted with thrush where mom has a crater,(closed) on one
or nipples and
if baby shows no wt. gain in one week's with increased frequency of
feedings as well as suck training has begun,
Both nipples have closed circular wounds with granulation noted around the
edges.Moms has most discomfort when baby squirm during a feed and the
majority after and between feeds.
To incease milk supply, which would the best route for mom and baby
A)-Pump after feedings,or and feed the baby
B)-have supplementation of ABM per Md's RX and await resolution of
craters of nipples before attemtping to increase supply
NOTE:if there is a wt.loss today,I will call Md today.I first saw mom
Monday and she said babe's wt last Monday at Md's was 8#9oz
(My scale showed 8#6 oz one week later this past Monday)
Naturally whatever is done will be according to the baby's needs and mom's
as well.
Thanks,
