So if this baby is happy, healthy and gaining well, I don't see spitting up
as such a problem.  Why bother with medication?  If the mom's okay with the
situation and the baby is doing beautifully, why do anything at all?  I like
that this baby sleeps from 11 to 7 with only one nursing at four in the
morning.  What a lucky mom to get all that sleep!

Avoiding the forceful letdown, burping every few minutes, checking for a deep
latch  and avoiding engorgement sound like the best advice for a situation
like this. I'd strongly encourage this mom to follow her heart and ask the
pediatrician what the consequences might be if she chose not to use
medication at this time.

My son only spit up once, on our child-free CPA's beautiful silk suit on a
100 degree day.
She's never forgotten.  My daughter spit up constantly, but gained just fine.
 She was just a pukey little kid.  The laundry is what got to me...
