My understanding is that one dose of Pink bismuth is equivelent to taking 5
(5 grain) asprins (? I haven't done the math).
The compounds Bismuth Subsalicylate (524 mg per dose) and Methyl Salicylate
are in Pink Bismuth. Total salicylates per dose 204 mg.
The label has warnings similar to asprin overdose and not to take if allergic
to asprin. Also person's on blood thinners, who have diabetes, gout or
arthitis are warned not to take the drug.
Something that is inert like kaolin preparations might be better for
diarrhea.
