I thought I'd posted this message a couple of days ago, but it got lost.
Anyway, here it was (is):
I've had a number of clients with this problem and unfortunately have not
had a lot of success with it. Here are a couple of references:
"An Overview of Solutions to Breastfeeding andSucking Problems," Susan
Meintz Maher, 1988 (LLLI), p. 14. [This is an excellent resource for any of
you out there who don't already have it.]
"Lactation Forms: A Guide to Lactation Consultant Charting," Chele Marmet &
Ellen Shell, 1989, p. 5-4. [This section suggests, among other things,
trying nitroglycerin ointment, prescribed by a physician for severe
problems. I haven't had success getting a physician who will prescribe it.]
