Now that I have resolved my email problems, can I do a bit of self promotion
under the topic of archaeological videos? As some on this list might be aware
(but maybe not) I put out on a weekly basis a thing called "The Ancient World
on TV" which is a compilation of television shows (with basic descriptions of
content) dealing with the `ancient world' broadly construed [essentially I
include things which look interesting to me ... an ancient historian by trade,

but generally interested in matters historical and archaeological ... listings

I have included range from Neanderthal times to the series currently wrapping
up on TLC called `500 Nations' (dealing with Native American tribes and their
civilization), so coverage is fairly broad. The programs listed come from the
`major' sources like A&E, TLC, PBS, and others.

This listing is currently posted to the Classics list, ANE (Ancient Near
East), Latin-l, Ancien-l, and AIA-L. It is also available on the web at:

http://www.humanities.mcmaster.ca/~classics/awotv.htm

Beginning in January the www listings themselves will be linked to reviews of
the programs (including such things as who the talking heads are, who did the
research, a basic summary of the program, and whether it is worth seeing).

P.S. By the way, if the SHA is looking for a web venue, I'd be happy to
provide it ... I'll probably end up providing a link to it in any event.
