The NPS Heritage Preservation Services Division now has a video titled,
"Working on the Past with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the
Treatment of Historic Properties."  The 40-minute video explains the
philosophical differences between preservation, rehabilitation, restoration,
and reconstruction through interviews, graphics, and the examination of four
historic properties.  The process of selecting and applying the most
appropriate treatment is spelled out.  This guidance, and more, is aimed at
all audiences.  It may be purchased from the Historic Preservation Education
Foundation, P.O. Box 77160, Washington, D.C. 20013 for S15.00 per copy.
