In reference to Nancy O'Malley's request for information on salt works
excavations, there is an article on a limited study of a Civil War era
Florida saltworks in The Florida Anthropologist. See: Dickinson, M. F. and
G. W. Edwardson, 1984, The Salt Works of Salt Island, Florida (8Lv133): A
Site Survey and Historical Perspective. Florida Anthropologist 37(2):63-74.
