I am not a member of this group, but apparently my name has appeared on it
under circumstances which must have appeared puzzling (its appearance was
reported to me by a student).  The original email (an ad) was forwarded to
me by a colleague on the list knowing that I was arguing for a similar
position and direction to occur in my department.  I dropped him a note
saying how upsetting it was to me that we were not moving in the same
direction, pushed the reply button and sent it off...apparently to your list.
