I would not recommend peroxide for open nipple wounds. It cleans out a dirty
wound- bubbles do- but it inhibits wound healing. If it is a gaping wound,
looks like a slice, etc (whre's the nomenclature committee when you need
them?) moist wound healing techniques are much more appropriate. I feel I've
learned alot from the Enterostomal Therapist @ my hospital. Stomas are also
mucous membranes.
