For a friend who is researching the history of the Saline Valley
Indian Ranch I'd like to inquire if anyone on this list has any
information or knows of any published information about it.

Saline Valley is located in California near Death Valley. The inhabitants
of the ranch were Shoshone's who sold their produce and water to the local
miners. The ranch existed from the late 1800's (when it was mentioned in an
anthropological journal as an example of a successful transition to White
Man's ways) to about 1950 when it was abandoned after a mining company illegally
cut off the water source to the ranch and a caretaker of the mine was killed
by two young Indians from the ranch.
