I think it very important that if mothers bring babies to conferences, that
they remember that other people paid a lot of money to come, and that baby
noises, even happy noises, can be very distracting.  We've done conferences
where there have been babies in the audience and you didn't even know they
were there - moms were very considerate, and when baby began to fuss or
become otherwise distracting, took them out of the room or bf or whatever.  A
toddler, even a nursing toddler, needs to have someone else caring for
him/her when he is awake and raring to go - let him run up & down the halls
with a sitter.  Mom can't concentrate on what is going on if she is spending
time trying to shush the child.  What toddler wants to be cooped up in a room
anyway?

The conference organizers need to be brave enough to tell the moms they must
sit near an exit and be ready to take the baby out if he/she becomes noisy.
