Dear Denise,

I know of your "Gripe Water", they used to sell it here in New York (Niagara
Falls is where I live) and I purchased it for my daughter when she was an
infant. It smells very sweet, clear fluid, thin like water. It's main
ingredients (from my memory) are fennel oil, dill oil, anise oil (or some
other licorice smelling root which is what the preparation smells of
predominantly) and other stuff. My daughter absolutely loved the flavor of
it. Although I only used it 4 or 5 times, it did seem to help and if nothing
else seemed to give her something else to do besides cry!! Ha Ha. Actually,
knowing just a little bit about these home preps, it is well known that dill
and fennel seed are excellent anti-flatulents.

I'm not sure but I think they've stopped selling it because it was like a
"drug without a prescription" or some hocus pocus. Probably some doctors
started to get mad because it works and cuts into their profits...oops. I
don't know why really. It was imported from Canada, though.

Regards,
