NEW ISSUE OF EXPRESSION

Dear friends and colleagues,
It is a pleasure to enclose issue 37 of EXPRESSION, quarterly journal
of Conceptual Anthropology.
The issue examines semiotic decoding through meaningful cases,
provided by the main articles. The typology logic of world rock art is
leading to semiotic decoding, the reading of myths represented in the
art of the Apache people of North America, unveils meaning of signs
and symbols, the relation between megalithic monuments and rock art in
southern India is providing details on the conceptual background of
the monuments, and Ming rain-making rock art from China, reveals
beliefs and practices of magic processes.
More ideas and analytical reasoning are provided in the Discussion
Forum, where the presence of human foot and hand prints in Tibet, much
older than anything else of the same kind in the world, finds an
explanatory proposal; the puzzling question about the age of the
biblical story of Exodus exposes two contrasting dates and
interpretations by two different exegetic orientations; the growing
use of AI, artificial intelligence, suggests possible other types of
alternative intelligence, besides the human one. And all this is open
to debate.
EXPRESSION 37 is another chapter in the challenge of introducing
conceptual anthropology to colleagues and to the public. You are
welcome to participate: your ideas and comments will be appreciated.
