To continue the saga.

One of the arguments about using 1:1 is it is more like nectar and the bees
can use it more readily to make wax, but everything I have read says honey
is the base ingredient for making wax. The 2x1 would seem to be closer to
honey than nectar.

Plus the trigger for wax production is full bees with no place to put it,
which is the normal condition for package bees and swarms.

Randy's experiment showed there was a delay before wax production started
but it was the same for both, so there seems to be no advantage for 1:1
there either.

Again, I am not saying to stop using 1:1 for comb production, but it
appears it is a waste of effort and time, neither of which is critical to a
hobby beekeeper but bottom line essential for a commercial beekeeper.

And also essential for a lazy beekeeper.
