Hey Bill,

Try these:

The Virginia Center for Transportation Innovation and Research (Virginia DOT's educational arm) also has some good information online:

A Case Study for the Loop Welded Eye Bars Removed from the Advance Mills Bridge in Albemarle County Virginia (2011) http://www.virginiadot.org/vtrc/main/online_reports/pdf/11-r13.pdf

Pennsylvania DOT also has information on its website:

Subject: Heritage bridges - steel, iron

I have occasionally seen references to work done for transportation agencies on this listserve. Are any of you aware of guidelines for the conservation of steel or iron heritage bridges or, more specifically, for the evaluation of their heritage value?

Thanks in advance.
