It's okay, Tim. ;-) The 3D animation was one of several products.

HA! Julie posted while I was typing.
Please don’t take my message to imply that YouTube fly through videos aren’t useful and important! They are!
Julie’s work is great.
Just be sure you are thinking about all the things you hope to achieve from this process and what the most important outcomes are for your group.
Best,
Tim

Are you prepared to use proprietary software to manipulate a 3d point cloud? Do you expect the point cloud or photogrammetric model to be exported to plan drawings or architectural renderings? Would you like to 3D print a scale model? Will you be using CAD or Illustrator or ArcView with the data? Do you want to publish it within google earth?

You’ll want to avoid setting up a collaboration for failure, where the person who helps you gives you a great digital fly-through of the 3d model that you can post to YouTube and a digital folder of files you can’t access again to use for other purposes.

We are looking for someone or group who has experience in 3D scanning or laser scanning to help map the inside and outside of the ruins. Does anyone in the region have any experience with this type of survey or know of someone who does?
