Time Team has an episode called "Warriors" where they work with a group of British wonded warriors who use archaeology for therapy and post military training.   The program was also mentioned two years ago on the program "Digging up Britian".   I don't have their name on  the tip of my toung.

Subject: Disability Studies in Archaeology

Hello All,

My university (University of Mary Washington, in Virginia, USA) is creating
a new interdisciplinary course on Disability Studies. The content and focus
is purposefully broad (I've included the course description below).
Disability is being defined in the broadest sense.

There will be faculty from Education, English, Art History, Psychology,
Architecture, among others and administrative staff from the Office of
Disability Resources. The students enrolled are from diverse disciplines
and backgrounds. I've been asked to do a week (three days) section on
archaeology.

My plan had been to do half archaeological studies of disabilities (again,
in the broadest sense) and half how does this work in the profession. I've
been doing research into the topic, but have found very few published
resources, particularly in regards to working in the profession of
archaeology with disability. The UK seems to be the most on top of this
subject, in regards to guidelines. I've also found blogs, which are great
for anecdotal evidence.

Any guidance on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Please send any
and all sources my way.

Course description:
The Introduction to Disability Studies course will be co-taught by several
instructional and administrative faculty members, and includes individuals
with disabilities, to provide multi-/inter-disciplinary approaches to the
academic study of disability. Disability Studies incorporates multiple
perspectives and expands on traditional diversity efforts to incorporate
disability within the field of diversity and inclusion (Note: Both
"disabled person" and "person with a disability" (PWD) are used by various
members of the disability community).
