"winter" (diutinus) bees occurs at their moment of emergence--due to the
triggers of the presence of queen pheromone, but without the presence of
young larval pheromone."

How does this differ from bees born when a queen is failing and there is no open brood?  Or from bees born when their frame is transmitted from a thriving hive to a weak one that has no brood?
