Hi Doug,
Another plug for the broodminder....  I have 10 currently running and find that for me they perform very much as advertised.  Data logging can be set for intervals of hourly (default), 15 min or 5 min.  My setup uses a single unit under one end of the hive and a cut 2x4 under the other.  A scale factor is available in the app to calibrate.  Usual connectivity is by low voltage Bluetooth to the app in either android or IOS with a newly developed option for a cell monitoring station for connectivity to remote sites (I have no experience with this).  CSV raw data can be sent to your email directly from the app.  A simple sync is available to cloud storage at beekeeping.io where additional analytics are available.
