To all, I am a phd student at Michigan State University. I am currently an RA for a site that dates from the early to mid 20th century in the united sates. I was wondering if anyone could give us a better idea of what they could be.

The first artifact resembles what could be the bottom half of a hurricane globe/lamp. It could also be any other kind of holder/bracket tho. The knobs are designed with ornate flowers.

The second artifact is some electrical component. The body is mostly ferrous metal and there are two coils of copper wire of differing gauges/thickness. For the research we were able to do on the internet we think it might be a power supply or current / voltage switcher.
