Bee keepers do not need to be chemists.

When beekeepers began applying chemicals to their hives, that confered upon
them the responsibility to make an effort to understand some principles of
chemistry.  There are a number of us on the List with enough formal
background in chemistry to help beekeepers to understand important safety
and application issues.  I am in complete agreement with you that
beekeepers can be best educated on chemical issues by someone who actually
understands understands chemistry : )

We all thank you Dick for your posts on this and other chemical subjects.
