Somewhere back in the archives there was a Russian study that used heat to
control Varroa. They wanted to take it to the extreme of almost baking the
bees to kill off the Varroa. So this is consistent.

Before that, I painted my hives with paint left over from my wife's
changing selection of deep blues for our stairs and garage doors, so all my
hives are some shade of Navy Blue and toasty in the summer, all three days
of it.
