All you need to know.

Please note that it is not elemental copper but copper arsenate, a horse of
a much different color (an insecticide!). Plus there are a lot more
interesting things added to the wood that leach out, even when painted.Add
that bees do gnaw out wood to open up cracks, so why let them have
something harmful?

Why bother since you are going to paint it anyway and I have boxes that are
20+ years old- just pine and paint.
