Hello,

We need to replace headphones on 2 exhibits. The current units are AKG K77s. Only problem with them is that the cushioning around the ear pieces has cracked, not very comfortable for the users. The headphones have been in use for about a year. They have actually been cracked for a while. Is that a reasonable life time for headphones? We are popular but have no where near the visitation and usage that you big museums get. At least they can be down cycled to a take apart lab.

Is it possible to replace only the cushioning, easily?

The going price on line is $49. http://www.gigasonic.com/AKG-K77-5pack.html is selling 5 for $199. The advantage of the K77s is that they have a second, flexible band so they fit a wide range of head sizes. Does anyone have recommendations for alternative headphones, or some way to extend the life of the new ones?

thanks for your help,

Lynn Cole
