Hi Sophia,

We've developed many museum programs that highlight chemistry, including Community Chemistry (hairdresser, sheriff and blood hound, mozzarella cheese maker, artist, etc) and Reaction Station

http://discoverymuseums.org/programs-events/reaction-station-adventures-young-chemists-26

The Mystery of Matter: Search for the Elements project coordinated by Colin Wilson at the Saint Louis Science Center is dedicated to bringing chemistry activities beyond the classroom: http://mysteryofmatteroutreach.org/ and http://mystery-of-matter.blogspot.com/

Another resource for an interdisciplinary approach is Art in Chemistry, Chemistry in Art by Greenberg and Patterson.
