Overhead projectors are wonderful for short demonstrations, but problematic
for sustained exhibits. Most use very inefficient incandescent sources,
with lots of heat and short bulb lives (50-100 hours). I've seen a few
more efficient models with 750-hour metal halide bulbs, but they're
extremely bright rather than low energy.
I'd be very interested to hear if anyone knows of overhead projectors with
efficient, long-lived bulbs (comparable to modern data projectors), or has
found or developed a good, high efficiency retrofit.
Thanks,
Richard
