"Where are you Mike?"
In NE California, southern Cascade Mtns 3400'.Probably 130 miles north of Randy Oliver(as the bee flies)
I dont like to leave them this high up this late, but sometimes things happen.Bees generally winter better from 1000' on down, especially if they can get on some early manzanita in January.I always get a kick out of hearing that the weather is warmer (sometimes) in places much farther north.My son grows peaches in Boise. That will never happen in this part of 'sunny' California.It was 5 degrees F. this morning.---Mike
