The Buxton Micrarium was inspirational at a distance.  It was an early impetus for the Microscope Imaging Station (http://www.exploratorium.edu/imaging_station/index.php).  Stephen Carter and I exchanged mail and were planning on meeting as part of his return itinerary from NZ.
