Good news here:  From my observations, just about the only issues that seems to hang most folks is "evolution," and the "age of the universe."``  Both are relatively new scientific recognitions and discoveries.  To believe or not to believe in the usefulness of science , i.e. the two referenced areas of prime disagreement, would be quickly and easily surmounted if people saw the intrinsic benefits of updating their world views.  So rather than focusing on the inherent evils ignorance with which we are beset, I think we ought to go forth promoting the abundant benefits of both, and if we can associate both with the perceived benefits of social success and access to preferred mates and reproductive success, so much the better.  The evidence is clear.
