Occasionally I will see surplus overhead transparency projectors for sale
cheap - last week 20 of them, with stands went for about $40 on a local
school auction site. I've thought about bidding next time for the lenses
and light sources, but I'm curious if anyone else has scavenged for parts
and what use you've made of them?
Many years and several jobs ago, a guy I worked with (Dave Sanders)
prototyped a simple wave tank using such a projector. You could gently
blow on the fluid, set different acrylic shapes in the shallow water, etc.
It was pretty cool! If you have one of those projectors just laying
around, I highly recommend the activity!
