I can only address this issue from personal experience of feeling severe
shooting pains in the breast with the most fibrocystic changes during my last 2
pregnancies and breastfeeding years. I kept thinking I had plugged ducts, but
after a while realized it was more like fibrocystic pain I felt while not
pregnant. Eventually it stopped and I don't feel that I found any solutions, but
it was comforting to know it wasn't the breastfeeding per se. I just seem to
have periods with pain and extra lumpiness in the breast on and off now for over
30 years.
